Wildcat UIL Speech Team Competes in Karnes City

On December 13, the Wildcat UIL Speech Team traveled to Karnes City to compete in the "Gift of Speech" tournament. The Cross-Examination Debate team of Annie Hollander and Alex Doria won the quarter-finals medallions after four tough rounds of policy debate.  In Prose Interpretation Valerie Mata read two of her literary selections through three rounds to win the 5th place medallion in the overall finals.  In Lincoln-Douglas Debate newcomer Mia Tapia won the quarter-finals medallion after her four grueling rounds of value-based debate.

Wildcat UIL Competes at James Madison Tournament

At the Madison tournament, the social studies team won the second place medals. Joseph Arias led the team with an individual placement of second place. Joseph was followed by teammates Hailey Alaniz who won 8th place and D.J. Ramirez who won 9th place. In Computer Applications Erica Garcia won the 8th place award. In Journalism Alyssa Vargas won the 3rd place trophy.
